The gift of music is a comfort and encouragement for the young and old. Twice a month we participate in an evening of singing those old favorite hymns for the elderly. We also have a time of devotion and fellowship. Everyone is welcome. Contact us if you would like to take part in this enriching program.

Annual Reformation Conference

Take the opportunity to explore the Reformation! The Bethel Reformation Conference is held each year in October at Bethel Reformed Church. This is a wonderful event that features a series of lectures on unique topics, by a noteworthy quest speaker, related to the Reformation and our Reformed faith.

Upcoming Reformation Conference Dates and Information:

The Bethel Reformation Celebration will be held Friday evening, November 1 from 7:30-9:00 pm and Saturday morning, November 2 from 9:00-12:00 noon. Our guest speaker is Dr. Don Sinnema, Professor of Theology Emeritus at Trinity College near Chicago. The theme of the conference is Celebrating the Canons of Dordt as a Church Confession.

On Friday evening Dr. Sinnema will lead a Virtual Tour of the Synod of Dordt on its 400th anniversary by impersonating the synod’s president, Rev. Johannes Bogerman, in full costume aided by many PowerPoint visuals.

The Saturday morning lectures are:

1.  How the Canons of Dordt became a Confessional Standard where he traces the process by which the Canons were drafted by the Synod of Dordt and became a confessional standard as one of the Three Forms of Unity

2.  Snip off the TULIP: Reading the Canons of Dordt in Context; in this talk, Dr. Sinnema is critical of the use of TULIP as a way of summarizing the Canons, since this acronym distorts the nuanced meaning of the actual Canons. He presents the main emphasis of each chapter of the canons, contrasting it to the narrow distorted meaning which has often been used as a tool to interpret the Canons.

Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call.

These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation.

Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life. Sign up your children, invite a friend, or volunteer by following this
